DISCLAIMER: These photographs are just snapshots that I took between sampling, smelling, and admiring the various wares of the various booths of Holle’s Martinimarkt. I considered not posting them, as they’re really not well taken, but figured that I’d post them anyway – those of you that want to see a German Martinimarkt can continue with those post, those of you that don’t…well, don’t.

Because what German event is an event without cake?

Sadly, no vegetarian sausages.
And this was obviously my favorite stand.

There was also more jam than you could imagine…

I have a sock-crazy friend. She would have loved this.

Wreaths! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmaaaaaaaaaas.
Some old guy cranking out (literally) music whilst looking either (a) lost, (b), confused, (c) sleepy, or (d) all of the above.
Oh, and a stuffed toy monkey.
Do you like fairs?

I’m not a fan of fairs. This place looks so nice, though. I love the creepy old monkey holding music guys. So weird.
And it always seems to be the same song.
I’ve been to a few fair before, I love all the food!
German fairs are awesome for food, agreed. And there were free jam samples!
I like food fairs, but not the kind of fairs with cheap and unreliable rides. This looks like a lot of fun though! Lots of silly little things haha
I’m really not much of a ride person, either. I completely freaked out on Splash Mountain in Disney World and my sister still has photos of me, panicked, clinging to me seat and screeching ‘I’m gonna die!’
Not my best moment.
But I still love Disney World. Though how did I get on the Disney tangent? Must retrace my thought processes…
Oh my goodness I could have done SO MUCH of my Christmas shopping there! So many unique gift ideas! Ahhhhh.
Same! But luggage rules suck, so I just have to keep the ideas and make it work when I’m back stateside.
Oh, and I love how you’re already thinking ‘Christmas shopping,’ too.
What a gorgeous fair! I’ve never tried much German food, but it all sounds fantastic. And it looks like they had a little bit of everything which is always so much fun.
I’m glad that you had such a great time!
Thanks! I recommend trying more German foods, then.
Start with milchreis (or wait, are you vegan? You could probably sub soymilk….)
Beautiful……I would love to be there…..
Thanks! If you ever can do it, I’d really recommend visiting Niedersachsen.
Great snapshots! Thank you for sharing! I will subscribe to your blog for sure.
